Stand your Stallion at Stud
We stand various stallions at stud during the breeding season for use with mares on-site or to collect and ship the semen throughout the UK. We also welcome walk-in stallions to be collected for fresh AI or shipping chilled.
Stallions at stud with us can make the most of our first-class facilities, including a purpose-built collection area with a full height adjustable ‘dummy mare’, Loddon stables with full rubber matting, Indoor and Outdoor arenas for ridden work as needed, covered horse walker and Solarium. Our extensive experience working with high-end horses and stallions ensures you can be reassured that your stallion is in safe hands.
We can offer a full dummy training program for young or inexperienced stallions to safely and happily mount the dummy and allow semen collection for fertility assessment or AI. This process must be done in a positive and patient manner to successfully set your stallion up for his breeding career.
Each stallion is an individual, and their personality and previous breeding experience can determine the time taken to successfully dummy train. Still, we generally recommend allowing a whole week to complete the process.
Dummy Training
We can carry out full breeding soundness examinations to register your stallion as a breeding stallion with the appropriate stud book. We can also perform infertility investigations for suspect stallions or test the semen to determine its suitability for chilled shipping.
Stallion Fertility Assessment
We can collect and freeze semen in our lab on-site. The process includes an initial test freeze to determine the most suitable freezing extender for each stallion to preserve optimum quality. Frozen semen can be stored with us for use in the future or shipped throughout the UK to alternative storage facilities or direct to studs & veterinarians for insemination.
